should have a connector on there, if its had an MOT with that missing and it was for the SAI then it would of failed, i'll have a look at mine as that looks like an AUM engine. If you have a look at Cully's engine hes replaced all the corrigated piping with blue which could mean a nice chance to smarten up the pipe work   :wink:
Where would I be able to pick that up from then buddy

Cheers guys I've just put a bit of hose there to replace it for now lol I've been told its for the secondary air pump will it hurt if ive put a pipe there ? Would this cause it to run funny and stuff ? Cheers

as i understands it, it helps warm up Cat etc when start up in cold temps especially, seems hit or miss with engine codes and if your still wanting to just get rid of everything have a look on urotunning.com where they sell the whole kit to remove your PVC, N249 etc etc

not sure, tried checking online but looks like it may be a trip to the stealers to get the part number then taking it to a aftermarket shop to see if they have anything better

i was told that if the SAI is removed it fails due to it affect emissions?


Really, nearly all the s3 and TT's I've worked I've removed the sai and not one has failed an mot as a result. Most of the s3 people have removed there's and no one has complained.

Remove the whole lot. Take the sai solenoid and cut off the flange that bolts to the block. Then plug the hole with a 10mm bolt or weld it up. Re attach the sai flange and it won't leak. Block the TIP port which is now redundant. Remove sai pump and pipe work, either code out , 3 scalars, or use a resistor to bridge the plug. Sai pump also circulates air around the block putting the fumes back into to the engine to reduce hydrocarbons. It's a waste of space and next to useless. But can cause issues if it leaks, unmetered air entering the tip is the biggest problem.

mmm ok, im going on what i heard thats all, so all that corrugated pipe crap taking up space can be chopped out then? new to me so will be donning the handy andies tmorrow lol is resistor best option, plan on doing this with my carbon canister delete but if it could be programmed out properly then i wont have silly tabs poking about
