Changing My Suspension Again!
« on: 08 August 2012, 10:12 »
Hello All,

Hope all is well?

Ive had KW shocks and springs fitted on my mk4 for a few years now, and pretty much ever since they have been fitted i have had horrible creaking from the front.

I thoght it was top mounts, and had them chaged but with no joy.

Even had Regal auotosport take them out to see what the problem is but they could not see anything wrong, and said it looks like its the shocks them selfs.

Anyway i want to change the whole setup, with shocks and springs again or coilovers but havent decided.

I was just woundering when im getting the suspension changed, what other mounts/bushes should i also change while its beeing done??
Thank you for your answers!

Buy some JOMs off DPM performance £150 delivered with 2 years warranty.

Also buy some new top mounts and bearings from VW or TPS as ebay ones arent too great.
I would advise that you put some copper grease on the threads once you have them on the car put thats upto you. Job done for less than £200.

Looking at your sig and your running a revo stage 2,

I would also makesure you polybush your dogbone mount on rear of the gearbox (very cheap), also check your wishbone bushes, drop links and balljoints while your swapping the struts over to makesure they in good shape.

On the rear theres nout really apart form the rear beam bushes..

Good luck.

Yeah I know the area.

These are bump stops, if you choose to run them. If you have reused the bump stops from the original suspension they could be slightly worn.

So does my car have these fitted as standard?

Would you think they need replacing (80000 miles)?

Where abouts do they go? Not seen them before.

Cheers For the help bud.
