15"s are way too small on a mk4, 16"s are about the smallest you would want.

my winterwheels/standard wheels are 15"  does look a bit ermmm...crap nice and comfy/bouncy though compared to low profile tyres on coilovers

15" will fit over 288mm, 312mm will need 16" + yours I think would only go under 18"+

Mine fit under my 17"s but only just and need a 10mm spacer
