I'd say you almost certainly need an uprated actuator on the k03s to get the most out of it. Even new stock ones will struggle to hold up to a new turbo pressure, and you'll see better performance from it.

i was told by nick at rtech that a forge actuator was not needed on mine as the turbo is new.

Depends as soon as you start going above 230bhp and too 245bhp you pretty much have to keep the actuator shut to squeeze that extra 15bhp out. For this scenario I'd go for Uprated actuator. But I don't know what your setup is or what power you want to see.

Regarding FMIC, I have a toyo sports one, except I bought the A4 1.8t core they do, reason is its a 2" over the 2.5" core they do for golfs. I bought the toyosport pipe kit they do seperate along with a beading tool and fabricated my own route, followed by wrapping the pipes up with heat wrap.

A bit OTT for my setup

I wouldn't say a FMIC is a must all depends what you do, heat soak does kick in relatively quickly, so for track use I'd say its a must but for a straight line boot or the odd foot down for grin its not really needed. If you are looking to do a track in future, you will want a descent set of pads, discs, Uprated hoses and higher boiling point brake fluid. The difference is huge as the stock setup heats up way to quickly, I will also be looking at adding two ducts for additional cooling.

I wont be going on a track, but I do go for 'spirited' drives round the bends near where I live, if I could get away with an SMIC I would, because I could do without the extra piping in the bay and messing around.
Always thought a FMIC would yield much better results ( I know it doesnt improve power just maintains it)

Just want to get the most out of the custom map, while the turbo is off I will put a forge actuator on, the Turbo isnt new it came of a Polo GTI apparently from the numbers,  covered around 16,000 miles when it was taken off.
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)
