They normally check the paint depth just to make sure it's original.

they told me mine had been painted until i got 2nd opinion an showed them report from other bodyshop

The quality of the service varies from one dealer to another, this is made worse by the confusion over the matter as VAG dealers have made changes to the policy and as of immediately they require the customer whose car it is to cover part of the cost for rust/bubbling. Needless to say there have been lawsuits against VAG in light of all of this.

Yeah they checked that when I went in, on both wings.
