Spacers, bolt through or bolt to hub first?

What do you think is better? The ones with real long bolts that go through the wheel then the spacer and into the hub or ones that bolt to the hub then the wheel bolts to the hub.

So long as they're hubcentric then no difference.

Although the ones that bolt to the hub then the wheel bolts to them probably make it easier when it comes to sticking a wheel on/off.

OK cheers. Trying to sum up what's safer but I suppose as long as they are tight then it shouldn't make any difference as you say......

Long bolts only for me.
One less failure mode...also, longer bolts help even the tension on the bolts.

You can hold them onto the hub using a longer countersunk screw in place of the disc retaining screw.
On 13mm/16mm or above, you can drill a recess for a cap head screw, if required.

Given the choice, longer bolts would be what I would use.
