Replacing speakers in MK4 GTI?????

I'm looking to buy some new speakers (front door cards) and some in rear quarter for my 3dr mk4 gti BUT, I have no clue about which type of speakers and what watt/ amps,  2 way or 3way, coaxial etc etc? Not looking for anything too expensive as will probably buy them from ebay but......
Can somebody give me any advice as to which would be best??

you want components really. think the size is 17cms but im not 100% sure. the tweeters may need slight modifiying depending on what ones you get but its worth it for the better sound quality

Components are nice and all, but if you're lacking confidence for installing you could always pick yourself up some pretty decent coaxials and install them yourself...

...Then if you're not happy and want to move onto bigger and better things sell your coaxials on to help fund your component habit

I just picked up a set of alpines front and rear for £38 from halfords who have some sort of a clearance on which might be your cuppa tea.

the alpines are decent as well. i had a set of 13cms in my missus ka and they were ok for the size. im sure 17cms would be alot better though

Got a set of 17s for the fronts and 13s for the rears.

i thought the rears were bigger then that? mine looked bigger then 13cms
