I use Car Lack , but use the sealant first which acts as a polish too if that makes sense. Ive been using this stuff for 3yrs now and its great.

You could clay your windows to help remove any old chemicals perhaps?

I use the dodo juice glass sealant, proper good stuff. Has given me awesome beading for almost a year now! Again this needs to be applied to spotless windows so using glass polish first is advised, again the DJ glass polish is good and will last you forever with the size that comes in!

I would just use the carlack kit. The clear stuff is the sealant. The cream polish is to deep clean the glass.

Label the bottles 1 and 2. Can't go wrong.

Megs glass cleaner of DJ for me.

I use Rain X all the time ... have done for years  :embarassed:

It can go through a "smearing" period after a week or two and I've found it best to :-

1.  Make sure your wipers blades are squeaky clean (he may have left Rain X them ?).
2.  Don't use your wipers until the screen is well covered with rain drops
3.  Don't use your windscreen washers with any strong additives (You don't really need in anyway with Rain X apart from in Winter)

Hope that helps a bit ... try perservering if you can ... it will pay off when all those insects start splattering your windscreen in the coming months    they'll just wash off with shampoo.

Rain X is poor.

It'll do its job, but it's poor to other products. Rain X works for about 4 weeks tops for me.

I bought Aquapel. It lasts 12 months easy. More expensive, but lasts so much longer.
