Strange Electrical Fault - Non Starter!!!
« on: 06 March 2012, 17:04 »
Hi
Looking for some advise on my 1.8T not starting.  I've been doing some work on the suspension so I've had the the suframe down and the uprights off as I've replaced the whole suspension with FK coilovers.

When I've come to start the car, after putting it all back together,  as soon as I put on the ignition on all the warning lights started to flash repeatedly and the car wouldn't turn over or anything.  There are some strange rapid ticking noises coming from the dash and even the throttle body (by the throttle cable) was making a ticking noise when I lifted the bonnet ???  Non of the electrical systems will work on the car at all.

Very confused as to what this could be any ideas...................

Cheers
Gregg

Thanks

Cheers....will have a look altho I don't remember undoing anything other than the the brake pad or ABS sensors on the hubs.......

Thats why I'm a little confused.

Out of interest... If the battery was goosed, could it manifest itself in the issue I have?  Will check it in a bit to see.

Thanks everyone for the quick response and help........would you believe it it was the battery of all things !!

I thought I'd disconnected everything that would have drained the battery whilst working on the car, but I'd left an interior light on.

Sometimes........it the simple things in life that you have to make sure of being in place so it seems
