Hi
Ok i bought a cheap 8v and it ran rough, would not idle well and stalled
I replaced the leads and plugs and dizzy cap and rotor, no joy, replaced all the vacuum hoses as they were perished, no joy, cleaned the idle air control valve (or whatever its called), no joy, replaced the Blue sensor and reset the ECU
Success !
It ran well and idled a lot better not perfect but a LOT better
So i decided to put the chip in i had form Advanced Motorsport Engineering. i have had it a while and never used it
I was unsure which port on the ECU to put it in, either the secondary upper board connected by the ribbon cable or the main lower board
I went for the main lower board and put it all together. car would not start.. so i stripped it down and changed it to the secondary board, car would not start, removed chip and replaced original
Car will not start. good spark and i can hear the fuel pump fire up and stop, not run on and fill the cylinders with fuel
When i looked closely at the ECU i found a broken trace on the PCB. i repaired the break but it still wont start
All earth leads are good too
Any ideas ?
Slim
