HELP! Rough running driving me nuts!
« on: 20 February 2012, 17:00 »
I have some rough running problems with my ADY engine on my mk3 golf.

The mechanic has replaced most things and is now saying it's probably to do with the vacuum hose setup. Not sure what this means as i'm a girl

Can anyone shed any further light on the attached photo. If you look at the vacuum hose from the throttle body to break servo, next to valve you can see it has a screw in one pipe the other left open. This doesn't seem right and when I fiddled with them it almost cuts out!

So if anyone can compare this with theirs i'd be grateful.

From the factory they have bungs in them. The usually break and fall off at some point.

I think on your model they both need to be blanked off. The symptoms you are describing are classic vacuum issues.

On mine, the far right one is blocked off, and the left one is in use, but I think thats because I have air con

I alo have an ADY engine, both of mine are capped off with little green plastic caps. Seems to run pretty smooth.
