If it has had the headgasket replaced then you may have an airlock.

Just run a hosepipe through it for a minute. Not worth all that crap flush stuff if u ask me. It's only gonna make all the hard crusty bits float around with the possibility of blocking more things by using something to brake it all down anyway.

Flush it though with a hose pipe. Then refill and try to get all of the air out. Rev it at 2k for a few minutes with the coolant tank top off. With heathers on hot pointing at the windscreen.

ok just took both heater matrix hoses off and gave them a good wash throught with a hose. also give it a good blow through with my mouth both directions then another wash through.

lost alot of coolant from the block so put it all back together and topped up the coolant again. had it running wile i was waiting for it to circulate. had the return pipe off the header tank so i new when it was flowing again nicely. then put that back on.

when it was running for about 15 mins and all back up to temp the header tand water started bubbling like mad. like it was boiling over realy badly and evan was spitting out really badly. is that just coz it was hot? should it do that?
i turned engine off to stop it and the water level dropped down way below min mark so topped it back up again and left it running for a wile then when it was up to temp again it started coughing and spluttering from the header tank again. thought i was just all the air coming out so left it for a wile and it just keeps doing it.

heater got warm then went cold again. all the time the temp is fin at 90.

Yeah as it's not pressurised with the cap off, as soon as it gets close to boiling point and the water is expanding, it just coughs and spits water out. Just top it up to max now and put the filler cap on. You should have cleared any air locks in there. Looks like you've hit a brick wall mate, get the matrix changed. As I said, I ran a hose through mine initially and got water back out, it all seemed fine but changing it actually made the difference. Don't think there is anything else you can change now so it's the only thing remaining.

Fcuking hell it's all settled down now and I actuly have heat from the heaters. It's not realy hot but it's a constant warm air flow. Enough to get the car warm inside in about 5 mins. I recon if I do another few matrix flushes and give the system a full flush and put nice new stuff in may get abit hotter aswell. I'm well chuffed now.
