I'm looking for a sub/amp combo for my MKVI GTI. I think i'm looking at a 10" sub. Does anyone think that would be adequate?

All depends on a few things - what you like to listen to (dubstep/rock), what kind of power you are looking for and how much you would like to spend

You can get great deals on the net at the min for audio, CarAudioSecurity stock loads of stuff (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product_list/c_path/1086_1087/spd/single-10-sub-amp-deals.html)

Have a search about and let us know what you are going for :)

yes 10" should be sufficient if you dont want massive power, my mate has a 10" in his car and it does him.

agreed on caraudiosecurity, can get some good deals and there normally pretty good with delivery times ect. :)
