Hi Folks
I know I am not alone with bad reception on this unit but I am trying to understand exactly where the problem lies. I have very patchy FM reception and just about no AM coverage at all. So far I have tried the following:-
Different Gamma head unit - same issue
Replaced rear aerial base - no difference
Installed inline aerial amp - no difference
I have heard that the head unit provides a 12v feed via the aerial cable to power the rear aerial base rear amplifier. Is this correct? When i put a multimeter across the aerial terminal on the head unit there is no voltage. When i do the same on the inline amp there is a 12v signal. Even with the inline amp installed it unfortunately makes no difference to the signal quality. Does anyone know how to test if the rear aerial base amp is actually working.
Any other ideas on how to fix this would be much appreciated. Thanks
