Cold Start Issue
« on: 05 October 2011, 15:09 »
Been having this for a few months now and cant think what it could be   :undecided:

When you start it, when cold it will rev up to 1100ish rmp and sit there till it warms up abit, which is normal... But if you rev or drive the car, the rev will sit up at around 1500-1800ish rmp for a good few mins but its fine after its warmed up.

It only does if when starting from cold and the car hasn't been drove that day... And it also make the same kind of noise as a broken secondary air pump. but had a look and my car doesn't have one  :undecided:

Anyone got any ideas what it could be?

Oh and the engine is an AGU, 100% standard.

Cheers, will give the TB a clean, its been on my list of things to do for a while

Dont think it could be the maf, no lost of power etc at all. Just get the problem when the car hasn't been driving for 12+ hours

hmm yeah does sound more likely. i know my revs are a bit weird atm (i.e when i turn it on it has high idle for a bit then bounces around before settling down) and thats due to a faulty maf. just havent got the money to change it atm.

could be coolant temp sensor or dirty TB - had similar problems when it had gone on mine.
