mk2 8v high hydrocarbon

I have a mk2 8v with a tsr fast road can in it, it failed its mot yesterday on high hydrocarbons, 1575 and should be a Max of 1200, is there anyway of timing the engine up to reduce this? It am I going too have to swap the cam to standard to pass??? Thanks

Might be a temp sender problem, the mixture is controlled by the ecu so no real way of adjusting it.

Do a filter change, get some fuel system cleaner through it and take it out for a good raggin before sending it in again.

good service and a severe thrashing before retest usually works for me.....

oil change and a good ramping normaly sorts them
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
