mk3 gti 8v/vr6 help!!!

Hi all new blood here ive just registered. Had my golf for 2 months now and just been offered a 3.1ltr vr6 engine and gear box. Does anyone know if anything needs modifing to fit it? Or is it a "simple" drop in and bolt on?

Should be in the MK3 section but as your here 

Aswell as the engine and box you will need
The engine Loom
The Ecu
The hydro clutch set-up (if yours is an early 8v the full pedal box out of a later spec mk3)
The cable change gear linkage.
New engine mounts
Twin rad fans
Clocks
Thinks thats about it

Got all the above. Does it just drop straight in? And yes deffinately a 3.1 its not quite standard

What crank is it running etc or what spec is it.

Exuse me for being uneducated but its my first golf on im not quiet sure of all the ins and outs of it yet

It'd be worth finding out exactly what work has been done to the engine, if it is 3.1l then it is far from standard & it'd be a good idea to check everything has been done properly

sounds like a vr6 engine. you will need a vr6 subframe too
