Scirrocco Engine the same a s a mk2 golf?

Hello all,

I have been offered a Scirocco gti for £150, the engine is what I am after as mine is damaged beyond repair.

Does anyone know if they are the same engine?

The golf is a 1800 8v, unsure about the scirrocco tho?

Any idea's peeps?

If the Scirocco is 1800 then yeah, basically it will be the same..........got some engine codes?

it'll be the same setup as the mk1 Golf GTI i.e. the Fuel Regulator & throttle body positioning etc will be different to that of a mk2.

if its a k-jet it will be the same

Gambit is right, it will be like a mk1.
The servo and brake master cylinder is on the right, like for a LHD. So some parts will be needed to swap to make it work.

Yeah, the basic engine itself should be fine.........Gambit is correct about the layout being different. I assume you'll already have all that and its just the engine itself that you need

If its the same set up as the MK1 GTI then the engine code should be a DX
