what have they done

taking it vw specialist today just to be on the safe side.The noise is coming from the right side of engine as you look at it.I suppose im looking at a couple of hours labour.Was gonna give a go myself but havent really got the tools.Hopefully hasnt done any permanent damage.Only done about 15miles since oil change.Hopefully its only the pickup pipe.Wish me luck.

  :cry:Oh dear.Found the problem out today.Strainer was blocked rock solid with bits from the cam chain tensioner.SO its new cam chain,cam chain tensioner,tensioner seals,oils pump,pickup pipe,oil and filter,new oil,rocker gasket and £580 lighter.Tensioner is Over £100 just for the part. :shocked:Should get it back tuesday cos hes waiting for tensioner.I suppose it could have been worse.cheers jay.
