Dizzy knock sensors
« on: 29 May 2011, 12:17 »
Having trouble with my 2E dizzy. Bought as working but only seems to have spark on cylinder 1. Are the knock sensors for a PB dizzy and 2E dizzy the same/interchangeable? I don't have the dizzy next to me so can't check.

Just want to see before I go forking out for a replacement dizzy.

Thanks

if it's only got soark on 1 cyl it's probaly a dizzy off a cranck sensor engine not a 2e

find the pn on the dizzy and post it up
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Thanks for the reply.

I'll find out the part number. From what you've mentioned though sounds like it's from an AGG block rather than 2E. Bugger.

agg and the other engines with cranck sensors just use the dizzy as a cam position sensor for the sequential fuel injection  hence there is only 1 trigger wndow in the dizzy.   not 4 trigger windows as found in dizzys off earlyer non cranck sensor engines like 2e

all the VW's have gone bar 1.

you need a spacer ring as well.

easy to spin out on a lathe
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Cheers for the info guys. Bought another dizzy now - this is definitely a 2E one! I'll sell on the AGG and PB ones.

Is a 2E one a straight swap then? With no other mods needed?
