Speakers not working
« on: 23 March 2005, 21:13 »
Messed around with my rear door card (driver side) yesterday fittin new plastic again.  Put everything back together and my front speakers ain't working.  I have a MK II 16v GTI -

1.  Would this affect the front speakers - I don't think so.
2.  I'm not sure that they were working before i did it but had the stereo on and the sound started to crackle whilst doing the door card.
3.  I cant get the stereo out - so I'm gonna go to local geezer who deals in car stereos (I'm in German so that should be a laugh).
4.  I have the original speakers in the car - read all the threads most don't make sense as never dealt with wiring and don't want to mess about with it.  With a small budget can i replace the originals an what about replacing the rear ones as well.

front dash speakers are 10cm (or 4in). about £30
Rear speakers are 15cm x 10cm (or 6" x 4"). about £40/45

Replacements are availible from most manufactures, kenwood, sony, etc.
