clipper cabbys common faults?

im looking at buying a 1.8 mk1 clipper cabrio its on 130k miles
could anyone tell me any things that are prone to going on them?
things i need to check for?
also does £1000 seem like a good deal for a tidy one?

and no 1000 will probably need a good amount of 'work' if you dont know what to look for, look at rich n hazels buying guide in maintenance section

mk1's hold good money, just be prepared to spend money and rememeber if you aren't mechanically minded you'll need to be able to afford to pay someone to fix it, fault diagnosing can be expensive,

however plenty of advice around here  (see previous links)

I'm late on this one and your questions have been answered but have you found one for a grand that you're interesting, would be interested in omore details, you never know, you may have found a bargain depending on the model, but as said, a 1k cabby will usually not be perfect.

Yeah says the lowest he will take is a grand, its tax and tested till october, apparently it drives okay and from the pictures looks pretty tidy, dent in the door but it comes with another door and the interior is worn apparently which i can live with
