I have the cutting out problem but im not asking how to cure it before you all go mad at me lol.

I simply need to know if,

1)  There is a way to test the crank sensor before i spend £48 on a new one ie: voltages and ohmages across the wires etc etc...?

2)  How do i disconnect the VW imobiliser as vag com throws up this message:

2 Faults Found:
17978 - Engine Start Blocked by Immobilizer
        P1570 - 35-00 - -
17978 - Engine Start Blocked by Immobilizer
        P1570 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

please dont go mad im not asking you all to tell me how to cure my problem im just a little stuck with these 2 things... ive read soooo many different forums and topics etc my head is spinning there doesnt seem to be much information on one set cure like the imobiliser or the crank or the relay every topic has cures and suggestions for all 3 and maybe more all in one place and is a little confusing at this late hour lol

Have u had car stood for ages and battery gone flat? Could be the ecu,immob have forgotten the codes between them, vagcom can cure that, but it looks like u could need a new immob box, I've just changed mine and got that fault when messing about with mine until I pared them again,

if Wayne or rubjohnny see ur problem they will shed more light on it!

The immobiliser box can be found either behind the passenger glovebox/airbag or behind the clocks. With the engine running disconnect the box and the immobiliser is out but do you have a starting problem because as said the fault codes could be old and just need clearing. I bought mine with 10 fault codes. Cleared them all and drove the car round the block and re checked and had 1 code.

cheaper to shove an new sensor in - check the condition of the wiring first.  Only way to test it properly is to use a o'scope and be able to run the engine/wheels - i.e. rolling road or something.

Have you tried the usual stuff first; clean throttle body, engine/ecu grounds, check for air-leaks, clean/check air filter?

Yea i cleared them finially got it running and it cut out and threw up the same codes, how do i read the codes from the imob box?

dont suppose you know what this box looks like do ya? or if it says anthing in particular on it? ie "immobiliser" lol
ive had the clocks out to clean up all the connections as i read this somewhere, dont recall seeing a box lol

Car is my daily or was lol, how did you go about pairing the two? ive tried re-coding the key via vag-tacho but no joy there?
