Water pouring out the water tank!

Hi guys, water is p1ssing out of the filler tank on my 16v but it seems to be coming up from the electrical connection plastic nut and not the cap! Is this a common problem or could it be the head gasket? The water doesn't boil and there is no oil in the water which must be a good sign?

Your cap has failed,pull it off and check the seal.Most people just change them for a blue one.
The water is coming out there because there is an overflow hole in the side where you say it is coming out.

Thanks, the cap is blue but I can hear hissing from it when the engines warm so must be that then! Cheers for the help

sounds liek its the level sensor that has failed, gsf sell these i think
