A couple more mods to the Mk6
« on: 27 August 2010, 21:31 »
First up more of a completion to an existing mod, the final production version of the ITG intake

And to prove how well the kit works, 16k miles use =

And behind the filter nothing but clean and dry pipework  :nerd:

Next up was the new and improved Porsche Brembo 4 pot brake upgrade, refinished in custom orange

Really pleased with the brakes, a great upgrade for the money

I choose the orange to offset against dark colour of the wheels

This is how the calipers looked before the refurb

I picked the calipers up cheap on ebay for around £190, then the refurb inc new seals and outer pipes, fitting kit and new pads was another £400, so a Brembo four pot BBK for less than £600, which compared to the normal Brembo 4 pot GT juniors aftermarket kit that sell for nearly double that, I think it a great way to do it

SteveP

Correct me if I'm wrong but are those wheels not VW 18x7.5 motorsports?

Funnily enough I was enquiring through a couple uk dealers this week about these wheels, however I was told they are a German accessorie only and they can't source them from over here. They suggested I contact a German dealer direct to see if I could import however I do not "spreken zie deutsch".

Where did you get your from then???? They are a lovely wheel and perfect fitment for a mk6 gti...

SteveP's wheels are Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s. Sourced from VW Racing without the logos on the rim.
The VW 'Motorsport' ones as found on the Scirocco racers don't have the profiled spokes and thus are flat faced.

Thanks Exonian, you mean these wheels then......

In all fairness Team Dynamics produce some very nice looking wheels for a very reasonable price, however because of this and perhaps there popularity they often get overlooked as an alternative wheel (A bit of snobbery involved maybe). The quality of them seem o.k. and team dyanamics also produce wheels for the British Touring Car series.

The VW wheel I was enquiring about are these babies which are remarkably similar.......
