brake conversion

Right i have the chance of getting a 1.6 driver i am looking at doing a vr6 upgrade on it i just want to know how easy is it to replace the rear drums with disks and what disks are good to replace with cheers

put the gti discs on the back and the 288mm VR6 ones on the front uprating the master cylinder to a 23mm one also.

just go for a g60 setup with braided lines. thats more than ample stopping power

depends how good you are at spanner weilding! just a thought though....is it not easier to use a gti as a base model as i swear there alot of other bits that you'd have to change on a driver that you could get away with on a gti? in relation to wiring, fuel etc? i may be wrong? but brakes are pretty easy.

Best bet is to get hold of an entire GTI rear beam, that way you'll get the internal ARB with it.? Then you just need std GTI handbrake cables?and possibly brake lines cant remember :smiley:
