Do you happen to know if VWR spec their own spring rates, or are these re-branded KW's/Eibachs/other?
I believe so...they certainly have springs for 3/5 door, DSG/manual cars, so they appear to be doing something right.
I thought I heard VWR say they were H&Rs...but a mate suggests KW and Steve suggests AP further down this thread.
I was also reading your comments in another thread on ACC being underdamped in the comfort setting - is that with the VWR springs fitted? Reason I ask is I'm thinking about some H&R or VWR springs and have ACC on my car too, but want to try to avoid any 'bouncy' ride issues when riding around in normal mode.
Yeah...I had the dealer fit my VWR springs before collection...so never drove my car on standard springs.
Normal is perfect...very good damping/spring rates with VWR springs fitted.
not bouncy - very well damped.
Sport adds a firmer edge which allows you to throw the car about like something smaller and lighter...whilst the springs aren't overly stiff, the damping must be significantly harder in Sport.
Comfort only feels floaty due to the damping...it isn't bouncy espceially...just gently floats about out on the open road when it shouldn't - and doesn't in Normal.
With VWR springs fitted, it could have come that way from the factory and you'd have no reason to suspect it was tweaked...its spot on.
