Standard Mk5 GTI Speakers (Trance/dance music)
« on: 01 June 2010, 23:38 »
Hello, jsut bought a gti and wow! What a car, love it!  Only thing I am a bitty annoyed about is the speakers.  I listen too trance music and with some types it really puts allt he voices too the rear speakers and isn't bery clear atall.  Sounds like its in a hall, very echoy! Only got the RCD300 mind you, would the RNS510 make much difference?  I really don't want to have to put in an aftermarket head unit, really like the vw stuff.  Would upgradeing the speakers be an option too?  Mines an 05 so has the 10 speaker system.  No sign of an amp tho so take it that it does not have the sound pack. Anyone who listens to this type of music too or with any ideas give me a shout.

Thanks again

Kevin

First thing is to get rid of the RCD300. The speakers are actually quite good when connected to a decent HU.

I've done this, hooked up a 12" sub and have a set of SPLs to put in. The HU is an F900bt.

The sound was SO bad, that for the 1st 9 months of of my ownership, I didn't listen to the stereo.

HTH
