Bass Test
« on: 03 April 2010, 22:55 »
I'm thinking of doing a little experiment to see which boxes are best for my subs and how to position them in the car for the optimum sound.
I am also upgrading the components in due course but they are running fine atm which surprises me! Aswell as a dual wheel arch build :)

A little about myself, I am a Bass Junkie but i dont blare it all day long, only have the Bass on about 1/3 gain at 1/4 volume which is sufficient for my Ears/Lungs  :smug:

I Bought two Vibe Space 12" subs @ 3000watt each, 1000wrms and at 4ohms
Decided on these as Vibe have never let me down and someone previously stole my old Subs and then buggered off to uni :(

The company i bought them off had sold out and decided to upgrade my purchase to Boxed versions of the subs which pleased me no end since Vibe boxes are quite pricey and very well made!

Here are links to the specs of the subs:
http://www.vibeaudio.co.uk/products/spacesub12/?PHPSESSID=021467efed6cdb816e99f9f0d13d8a28

So to clarify i have two different boxes,
1) Two Singles with twin ports (Evo series)
2) One twin with Three ports   (AC series)

I am running them both off of a Vibe Bass 5 Mono Amp.

I will post up pictures of all my equipment as soon as i get home :) It is a bank Holiday ya know

Just wondering if people think this will help/be a worthwhile experiment or am i a silly fool ?

And does anyone have any opinions on which box/boxes will be better or what position will be the optimum?

how to position them in the car for the optimum sound.

makes no difference, due to the wave form which ever way you put it you will always get the same sound, the only thing that wil afect it is it bouncing off surfaces and because its in your boot(most likely?) you kind of limited to it always bouncing off surfaces and even that might not afect it, be interesting to see how the box affects it thoo

To be fair i was just planning to test the boxes but due to the size of the car i have to install them at different angles which may affect the sound!
