Recaro loom fitting?
« on: 04 March 2010, 20:59 »
Hi. Got my Recaros for the mk2, they're in great shape, just a little dirty. Paid £300 for them - bargain!!! Anyway, How do I go about wiring them in? I have the loom with the connectors intact. Where exactly do the two ends go on the back of the fuse box? Cheers.

You have the loom that can reach the fusebox?  I had to make my own up, easier if you have CE1 electrics as there's loads of spare +ve terminals if making your own. Is your car CE1 or CE2?

I presume it goes to the fusebox. Its the genuine loom from the car the seats came from!? The seats are from a 1989 car, mine is a 1992 run out.

I've never seen a seat loom before so can't comment much.  Is there any chance of finding out if the car the seats came from was CE1 or CE2.  Yours being a 1992 will have the later CE2. Got any pics of the loom and connector in question that you can post up?

Is that all it is? You must be able to find a spare +ve feed on the back of your fusebox for that one connector. You'll have to drop it down and have a look, i'm thinking position Y, bottom left of the single pins as you look at the fusebox with the relays and fuses facing you. Earthing is simple, there is a block underneath the dash above the fusebox, loads of brown wires going to that.  The fuse holder will clip on top of the fusebox as well.

**Edit** Position Y1, just checked the Fusebox sticky by rubjonny.
