Subframe and engine mounts replacement

Hi All, In addition to requiring a replacement Carb to swop the useless Pierburg I need to sort out my subframe and engine mounts as they have rusted pretty badly. Surface rust so far but I want these resolved as the car had been standing a while and the rust set in. The rest of the Golf CL is mint and I would like to continue its care by doing these jobs. Anybody out there with resolves or ideas? If you can do the job get in touch!! Cheers!!

Mounts you can replace, subframe you can probably get a replacement for, but it might be easier if yours is still good to get it shotblasted and powdercoated.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Is surface rust on a subframe really worth worring about? I would of thought that's it's a pretty solid bit of kit and that surface rust is all the corrosion it'll suffer. Then again I'm no mechanic, body work specialist... basically I'm a monkey with a spanner.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Given the age of Golf2s there's plenty of opportunity for a subframe to have rusted out by now.

If it's surface rust though, meh.
