other night when it was raining went for a drive and car was cutting out and missfiring, so from what i have read in the common faults section i assume my coil pack has given up? is this the one i need:-
http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Golf_2.0_1996/p/Car-Parts/Electrical-and-Lighting/Ignition/Ignition-Coils/?413440471&1&66ce934a7f9c99c15b54591067894cb0f6c906a2
Could it be anything else?
Thanks very much

Yes give everything a good spray with a good moisture repelent or even wd40, cheaper option to try first.

i did check too see if coil was sparking but couldnt see anything so assume moisture was getting in the cap. Ta

Or they will only fire once of twice and get weak as they break down. But wont be enough to start the car.
