I have got a mk6 GTD and have had it remapped by my local revo dealer it is now far quicker than the mk6 gti even standard from a roling start the gtd was just as quick as the gti until you get to 100+. I work for VW and think that as an all rounder its hard to beat this car especially now its quicker than the mk6 gti probably better residuals and 40+ mpg.

the GT170 will remap to over 200bhp anyway :lipsrsealed:

Yes, but wouldn't you rather have a 200 bhp Golf GTD from Volkswagen than from some cowboy outfit, who might not have the knowledge and experience to add the additional bits and bobs required to ensure long-term reliability?

don't use cowboys then, simples!

it's probably just a tinkered 170 engine when you break it down anyway.

I was swaying toward the GTD before I plumped for the GTI. I don't actually have a preference for either but got a good deal on a pre-reg GTI so went that way. Mine's had similar engine treatment to yours too......

If thats the same engine they were playing with over two years back in development its more than a tinkered 170 engine theres huge differences and two turbos.

vw are slotting in a 180ps twin turbo four pot engine into their new T5 van soon so there's hope a 200PS Diseasel will make it into a Golf......well I say hope, DERV haters won't hope. I could be swayed by one though.
