i didnt know whether you had a/c or not... so thats how much the belt will cost you from gsf... cheap as chips if you want to change it...
make sure you have a splashguard is the first thing i would say, then make sure its fitted ok, then try just adjusting the belt as i have shown in the guide, using the toothed bolt to tighten it up... if its at max, then try a new belt...if you have the time, take the belt off and inspect it, if its shiny then replace it, but for the price of a pint i would change it anyways
ok ive done a lil diagram to see if this will help you with the adjustment of the belt...
the view from the left is a side on view and the view on the right is from the front so to speak..
first thing you do is tighten up the blue headed bolt a little to make sure you can get the bigger socket correctely seated on the grey bolt head, the yellow part is the toothed section of the grey bolt/washer so to speak...
once the blue bolt has been tightened up enough to get the socket over the grey bolt, slip the grey bolt onto the brown toothed area, so that the yellow and brown areas interlock as in the bottom left pic...
you can see in the top right pic there is a groove that the bolt runs along, basically tighten with the grey bolt until the belt becomes tensioned, then whilst holding the grey bolt tight, tighten up bolt 12 on the above diagram... this should lock the belt in place, you can now move onto the smaller blue bolt and tighten this up to secure the toothed grey washer/bolt in place...
does that make any sense or just confuse even more??
