You have to get a stand alone ECU as far as I know. Megasquirt may be a good shout.

Megasquirt time then. Pretty easy to do on a digifant engine it seems as everythings there already and you can use the existing loom if you make an adaptor cable between the existing ECU plug and the megasquirt = bugger all wiring (see this site http://www.conrod.co.uk/msd8v.html for more info). Still have to map it but theres plenty of base maps you can work from ont net.

you'll proably need diffrent injectors or a higher rate FPR anyway iirc  as the std digi 2 injectors are a bit small

H'mmmmm, you'll need more than that to Megasquirt it effectively - what about a potentiometer on the throttlebody?  You can pick one of those up off a 2E, but you'll have to check to see if it fits up to the PB manifold.

You also could *really* do with a triggerwheel, although I think Danny is planning on using the Hall sender on my 8V crossflow.  If you want a proper triggwheel Omex can supply them and then you'll need it fitted up to the crank pulley and get a bracket to hold the sensor.

For a proper system you really need a wideband lambda and control box - completing the feedback loop on fueling.

I'll tell you what it's like when Danny's got mine sorted
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

the throttel body you need is off a 16v automatic passat  if you want to use oem parts.

as for the dizzy,  thats more than likely going to be tempoary

as above chipping a digi ecu isnt really effective,m you can change the fuelling but thats it, ignition map cant be tweaked.
Watch out when buying TPS equipped tbody, ones that fit direct to digi 8v tend to be too tall and hit the fuel rail, mk3 tbody is a totally different shape so no good either.
heres a great site outlining megasquirting a digi with the existing distributor:
