The gti hasnt long gone over 100k and i have recently been feeling a rough rotational feeling through the floor combined with if i listen hard a rough rotational noise. Initially i thought it was just doing it under v.light engine braking, rolling in gear etc but now i can hear and feel it when its under throttle. Although it does it everytime i drive the car the noise/ feeling through the floor is not constant and comes and goes with different speeds. Saying this i can only ever hear or feel it if im doing less than 50mph.
To me it sounds like gearbox bearing but i am unsure and am hoping it something else.
This may sound like im clutching at straws but my friend said that he had a similar noise/feel throught the floor when his centre box was blowing on his mk3 polo. Well my centre box is now blowing quite considerably and when thinking about it the noise through the floor (albeit under my feet and obv further in front of the centre box) has increased in feel/noise over exactly the same time period as the centre box's blowing has.
I know from experience with other cars and wheel bearings and drive shafts etc that noise gets transmitted around cars in weird ways and is often misleading but am i as previosuly said clutching at straws hoping the centre box could be the noise/feeling or are the symptoms just classic mk3 gearbox bearings going?
Like previous posts i have written an essay, so sorry, but any help would be appreciated! cheers!
