Revised System
« on: 11 May 2009, 14:55 »
Well its all done and working now!

And as much as I hate to say this - I dont miss the 6x9 on rear shelf! :embarassed:
But hey this system is so much better now! Dont think I will even think of improving it!

The dash speakers is a very good and easy swap.
The amped door speakers was a pain!
I doubt if it had been any easier by drilling through the electrical connector!

So just as a recap for those that aint been following my various posts!

Dash speakers = Alpine 10cm mid/tweeters SPG-10C2 front channel off HU

Front Door speakers = SPL Dynamics 6.1 run off the Sony amp in boot.

S/H Alpine H/U = CDA-7894RB

Ditto CD player = CHA-S634

Infinity Reference components in rear doors

Sony 10" Sub in homemade enclosure in wheelarch recess

Sony 4 ch amp
Mystic Blue Mk3 16v + Black Mk5 Gti 05 plate + Peugeot 405 Mi16

Well Done Len :)

Gotta say, whilst alot of people like 6x9s, I've NEVER liked them - always gone for decent 16cm or 16.5cm drivers.

The Infinity stuff sounds fantastic (IMHO), but you haven't said if you're happy with the sound or if you like it?

I'll be doing the same type of thing too. Had Focal stuff and a JBL 12" sub running in my Scooby. When I came to Audi, the car had a full Bose sound system, so it was amazing

My Mk5 (when I get it) will be having a full rip-out job. New HU, door speakers and my JBL will make another appearance in the wheel arch ;)
Just debating on what HU to get (thinking of a Pioneer F700bt) - speakers will probably be Focals, but they can be quite bright...We'll see... I'll document it too

Oh yes! Love the sound!

Have always liked 6x9's myself. In the Pug I have a set in the front doors and 7x10's on the rear shelf!
So this is a big departure for me.
