just a few queries
« on: 20 March 2009, 16:03 »
ive got quite a bit of money saved now for a 1.8t gti and im thinking about just saving a bit more and doing all my engine/power mods at once, so just wondering what power figures  i'd be looking at if i was to save that bit extra and do  the following.....

Panel filter, cat back or turbo (with sports cat) exhaust, a recirculating valve?? (dunno if thats right or not? the forge 007 one??) a fmic and then a r-tech remap. obviously itd b wise for me to do the g60 flywheel and clutch swap aswell right??

cheers

Dan

if you go for the later model mk4 fitted with K03s turbo, with the above mods and a stage 2 re-map you should be looking around 220 - 230bhp.

If you go for the earlier model fitted with a K03 turbo then you would be looking at around 195-200bhp

The G60 flywheel and clutch swap is a good upgrade as the flywheel is lighter than the standard dual mass clutch.

Before spending though make sure when you buy the car all the mechanical workings are in good order and service history is upto date.

Depends how worn it is already. My standard clutch lasted for about 40k remapped miles with a couple of track days thrown in. ;)
