Just in a straight line performnace shouldn't take much as far as I can work out. A mk4 GTI weights around 1230kgs so running remap/tip etc 220bhp a mk4 BHP PER TON is 180.85bhp/t
Where as a mk5 ED30 weights 1330kgs and 230bhp works out around 173 BHP PER TON 

some good figures there,

anyone know what power standard internals will cope with, on an agu lets say lol

About 300BHP I think (don't quote me though)

Keep the ED30 and buy a V6 mk4

But the ed30 remaps to over 300bhp! Also i have yet to see any RR figures of 220bhp mk4's (with just a remap)

So a 300bhp ed30 will have a bhp/ton of 229.53 (or more than an M3)

The amount it would cost would not be worth it imo. I would get an S3 and map that as it will be much better than the Mk4 in performance terms http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/872968.htm

Lol I'm not gonna sell the ED30 at any time soon. Just wanted a mk4 as well!

With the ED30 I can't do any dash mods since it's still in warranty. But with a mk4, I could make my own KITT!
