« on: 01 February 2009, 21:13 »
The previous owner upgraded the radio, which works a treat but it does not switch off with the ignition.
Is there a wiring diagram availalbe before I enter the dash to have a look????...or not to bother
Its a JVC KD-S6060
thanks

take the headunit out. swap the switch live wire with the permanent live. should be the only two with oem bullet connection type things at the back! or upload a pic of your wires that you have there mate??

Had a poop day!!
When I removed the radio to have a look, I have now established that for some reason the switch is dead and both the feeds are connected to the live. Pulled what panels that come off without going to far to have a look, with no luck. Any sugestions before I put the jigsaw back together in the morning??

Could I pick up another egnition live up with out affecting the voltage ballance?????.....
Will the glove compartmet light do????

thanks!!!

what car is it? my ign live has gone on my MK3, I actually heard it pop and smelt the burning, anyway....

glove compartment light will probably not be an ign live, try it though if you want.

you could also use fag lighter ( also may be a perm live)

short of that you could use an actual switch or else it would be time to get the multimeter out and start fishing around in the fusebox.

personally I like my HU to have constant power, it gets you in the habit of removing the face.

and voltage balance? what do you mean by that?
