in-line volume for sub
« on: 19 January 2009, 20:23 »
Hi all, so I'm going to install a sub into the booty of the jetta soon for sh*ts and giggles. I don't plan to use it much but would like it so I could very easily change the volume of it via an in-line knob. How would I go about wiring something like this in? Thinking I might be able to mount the knob into a spare dash blank!

What would I need for this?

Just looking on Maplins..

Something like this? A log pot?

Wouldn't know what "k" to get though.. 10k, 100k, etc.

Cheers, just had a look around and they do one.. for £20 bloomin' quid! Utter rip off for a few bits of wire, some connectors and a potentiometer!

Can't seem to find any information on what rating log pot I'd need to make my own..

Good idea.. think I'll just go for a simple switch instead. It'd be a lot easier!
