Thats a pretty cheap repair from VW, £80 is the minimum charge for labour (or thereabouts) up here.  That would make me a bit suspicious that as Rhyso said he's just going to tighten up the fuel cap for you!  Then again he'd have done that there and then and charged you the £80....I'm just cynical.  If VW can do it for £80, you can do it for a tenner.  That I am sure off.

I had the same problem with my car a couple of days ago so i booked it in for the dealers to look at, along with second service.  But started the car today and the light has gone

Just got back from Sheffield.
Everything seems OK.

Started the car this morning and the light come on and stayed on and I didn't notice the light go off on the way to Sheffield this morning...
But I did notice that the light come on and then go off as normal when I started the engine for the home bound journey...
The light hasn't come on since after several starts...
Would do I do now...
A. Don't go to VW on friday, but monitor the situation.
B. Go as planned and be charge £80.
