I've never been to ed38  twill go next year for sure tho..

I found the following:

Vento Front End
Bonnet - £25.12 (http://www.car-partsonline.co.uk)
Badged Grill - £25ish (eBay or the like probably)
Lights - £50 (http://www.car-partsonline.co.uk)
Front Bumper (part painted) - £35 (http://www.car-partsonline.co.uk)
Rear Bumper (part painted) - £41 (http://www.car-partsonline.co.uk)
Wings - £42 (http://www.car-partsonline.co.uk)

Planning on doing the bonnet and grill, get them painted and obviously the lights, then get the bumpers and eventually the wings in priority order.

this sound about right? think I'm alright getting these parts from that site?

them prices do seem rather steep..... have a look round the local ve forum's and you will pick them up much cheaper! like i said I have seen several bonnet, bumper and grille sets around £70-100.. oh and the rear bumper wont fit and you dont need the wings

the rear bumper won't fit ? why not?

the wings are going to come a lot later, i know they aren't required for the vento front end, but mine aren't mint and I'm 50/50 about wether to fix the old or just buy new..

all of those prices are brand new, unpainted items yeah? you still think that's steep? I thought that was pretty good! lol..

the vento rear bumper is longer and little deeper....but 99% identical to the golf one in style....
them prices are not bad for pattern parts but fitment and quality is never as good on them. remember the front wings can have either square or oval indicator holes.
If you have a good body shop I would go for new as they will prime them correctly and they will also make them fit fine (look at the difference in price betwen them an o.e!!) oh and I guess that vat will be extra (another 17.5%!)
sounds like an intersting conversion.. keep us informed

you're OE to the bone though!

I wasn't thinking of keeping it original though, think I've been looking through a certain ed38 thread for too long :embarassed:
