Door speakers
« on: 14 June 2004, 23:14 »
My Mk2 Golf didn't come with door speakers originally but I've just put in some new door cards with speakers in the side pockets, and I'd like to hook these up.  Could anyone explain exactly where the wire runs?  I can see two capped off holes either side of the door hinge which I assume the wire runs through, but do I need some sort of rubber tube to seal the wires off from moisture?  ???

Re-reading that it might not be too clear what I'm on about, I'll get a picture tomorrow to help explain what I mean :P

Thanks  :)

u need a tiny hole in the actual card for the speaker wire to run though. then another small hole in each other those gromets. wrap the wires up with electrical tape between the grommets too. if you can find 2 of the rubbers that go there in a scrappy get those as they'll be more water resistant.

You can get rubber gaitors that go between the door and the bodyshell, I might be able to get some from my local scrappy if you're interested...

that'd be awesome if you could, I went to my local scrappy and asked for them but they just gave me a funny look  :-[
