i still have to get my engine if you mean me lol, i have it sorted tho for when im ready, full brake set up etc too, doing the conversion myself, on my mums driveway...dunno if thats a good thing or not but give it a go, next door neighbour is a technician at VW leeds :smiley:

good luck finding an engine with the loom, ecu, clocks and keys. do have an eye on a tdi cat c at the moment though!!

any more info on which engines were affected? Mines same size / year / milage and am just wondering if mine might be affected...

i will post up more once and if i find out more, its very sketchy, VW wont admit it either, and wont touch it now its out of warrenty, if you use alot of oil, the chances are you could be affected, it was the 2000 year only, not all of them, was a big batch they Fooked up on, my old mans always needed frequent top ups of oil from new and was told this is normal for the 2.0 lump, and really this should not be the case...VW have been aware of this problem, really sh!tty of them if u ask me
Think my dads engine code is AQR, but iv been told it dont matter what the engine code is, it affected the whole bunce which were fitted in various engine codes
