Well the garage phoned after recieving my letter, they've offered to put right the exhaust & fix the cills free of charge.

Spoken to Jodie at Midland & he's put me onto a guy local who does bodywork to quote for the cills too.

Getting everything right for free is very tempting, but I'm just not sure what the quality would be like especially as they fubar'd it in the first place & tried to hide it.

Sooo, what do I do? Get it done free but pester the hell out of them & check up on the work? Walk away & fork out for a 'proper' repair?

Dilema!

Well I'd take it back and at least give them the chance to sort the Zorst out and do the jacking points too. At the end of the day it's free, and so it should be as it's their c#ck-up.

but as you say keep a close eye on the work done. I would avoid a welded exhaust if you could. If it ain't right again its gonna be a real ball ache to keep un-tacking the welds. See if they can sort it "normally" then you could tack it together when your happy it doesn't vibrate and knock.

Thanks, that's the lines I'm thinking along, just been & had a chat with 'Phill' at Damel Motors who happens to just be a VW bodywork specialist 100 yards from where I work! He's going have a look on Friday & I'll go from there, he's said he'd look at the exhaust too, just want it fixed tbh & not have to worry about it being done half-arsed.

Will keep you posted!
