Now...what do you make of this for a cheap GTi?

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/680653.htm

I emailed the dude on the ad, obviously querying the ridiculously low price £8000 and got this in reply.

"Hi, as you've seen in the ad the price is £8.000, the car has full history service, excellent condition, accident free, has no damage, no scratches, MOT'd until Oct '09 Taxed until Jul '09, Warranty till Jul '09. It is an UK car (not an import), under UK number plates and it has full UK. I bought it from NAAFI at a very good price which I too reduced substantially for a quick sale. The car is located in Madrid, Spain and so am I, but I believe this shouldn't be a problem as I can have the car delivered back to the UK. Email me back if you are still interested."

Now, why would someone sell a mint 07 GTI for £8,000? I don't gamble guys well, technically not true... I will buy a Euromillions ticket tonight, but reckon that theres more chance of winning that than this car being genuine....or am i being too sceptical

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

edit: i just emaild him acting interested, whats the betting i get the same responce that you did....word for word

Anyone got any suggestions on how to convince SWMBO we need another car?

lol, you mind thinks the same as mine steveP!  although after showing her pics of that mark 2, she says it doesnt look "classic enough" .

A classic must mean a bucket of rust then!!,. No she says she see's those too often not to class it as a classic.i think she wants some sort of restoration

....If it's for her to drive, why not just let her get on with it and then show you her 'shortlist'. Sounds like you've got loads of hassle otherwise!
