door hinges

i seem to be having a problem here with a creaking noise coming from not the door hinge but the metal thing that it grabs onto(on the chassis)  it seems like it has started corroding around and makes a craking npise when i drive over bumps.  it is not solid anymore it moves just a bit and makes a squaking noisem should this be osmehting to worry about as i dont want it to break one day and not be able to keep the door closed

Do you mean the strike pin? You should be able to tighten it back up........might take a little trial and error to make sure its in the right place mind.

well i drove my gti off a cliff, there problem solved.
