IMO they are a total con job. I flatly refuse to have any of those products on any new car i buy, they are all making false claims "it will protect your car for years to come blah blah"
Rubbish

Buy some good detailing gear and enjoy getting your beauty gleaming, save £100's!

I cant believe garages have the nerve to push this junk.

Rant over!

Absolutely right, there are issues with mine which I didn't notice on collection but now the sun is out the swirls and holograms are very apparent. But I paid for a full 3 year guarantee and they are bloody well going to honour it

If they don't I'll get AutoDetox to do it properly and send them the bill.

I got suckered into Autoglym for my first Mk5 GTI in Jan, 2006 - fell for the usual bs from the dealer.  It was the first new car I'd ever bought so I wasn't too clued up.  With my Ed30 manual in March 2007, I bought it for £10 from ebay and applied it very very carefully with excellent results.  I got conned into -again - it for my DSG Ed30 in Sept 2007 by the dealer who stuck it in for free when I asked about discounts  :embarassed:  I didn't figure that they'd employ an escaped primate from the local zoo to go over it with what must have been a filthy and gritty rag.   Now its got swirls on it and I am wondering whether I can use that 3 year guarantee to get them sorted?  I can be quite anal about the car so maybe they'ill just laugh and say its normal and not covered?   :embarassed:

Get a proper detailer to sort your car at delivery. Tell the dealership not to touch it after factory delivery. Agree that the dealer options (such as Autoglym and Diamondbrite) are a rip off. Much better job with a professional detailer.
