V.Lumpy Idle

Hey guys, I've just been out for a spin in my car to get some photos only after parking, started it up and it sounds like its misfiring now. . . v.strange as it wasnt before, it's dropping to about 750rpm and almost stalling, then it will jump up to around 1500rpm. . . I've just taken all the HT leads off to see if I could find a problem there but no such luck, havin a pretty sh!tty day so far so any help would be well appreciated!

Any Ideas spring to mind anyone, was hoping someone may have had the same problem. . .

possible vacuum leak as thats causes similar issues..check all the breather pipes are ok
i think stopping it and restarting it is just coincidence?

Clean the throttle body?   seems to be the answer to most problems on golfs  :grin:

Mabey its the idle up valve?  the Idle stablisation valve as its called on a golf.

only on the bosch injection (early 8v and all 16v) tho.... the simos 8v dosen't have one!!

Ok in that case it will be one of the following.....

ECU - Basic setting/coding
Air intake system/vacuume leaks
Fuel pressure /regualtor
Condition of fuel/filter
Idle air control (IAC Valve)
Idle speed control actuator
Idle Actuator possition sensor
Evaporative emssion cansiter perge valve
Injectors
Engine coolent temp sendor
O2 Sensor
MAF Sensor/MAP Sensor
Air intake temp sender
Engine Compression
Engine managment connections/wiring
Engine control module.

Now.. where do you start  :grin:

~Haha, problem solved! There's a vacuum hose leading from the top of the inlet manifol all the way back to the ECU. . . cotton overbraid it is, the hose had split and come off, stuck another bit in its place, all sorted, got some more ordered though, re-do all the overbraided vacuum hose I can find now :laugh:
